What's New Hyundai Sans wins iF Award 2017!

In considering the design form of Hyundai Sans, Hyundai Motor's bespoke typeface, the 58-strong iF Design Award jury took account of the way it reflects Hyundai Motor's human-centric approach in caring for its customers. Before its launch in 2016, Hyundai Sans underwent a 12-month process of development and evolution as part of the company's global brand identity renewal.

Hyundai Sans Typeface is the bespoke typeface created especially for Hyundai over a twelve-month period. The typeface was launched in 2016 as part of a comprehensive, global brand relaunch targeted at global consumer markets. The effort’s main objective was to shift the brand’s focus from product to lifestyle. As a result, Hyundai Sans Typeface visually reflects the brand’s mission: to enrich people’s lives with remarkable moments and experiences by rethinking the future of mobility. Thanks to its carefully crafted geometric structure, enhanced legibility and balanced letter shapes, Hyundai Sans Typeface radiates a warm, confident, simple look with a human touch.

For more than 60 years, IF Design Awards have been recognized across the world as a symbol of design excellence. Organized by iF International Forum Design GmbH, the awards celebrate outstanding design across various disciplines and categories. Hyundai Sans is featured in the iF World Design Guide 2017, and is displayed at the iF design exhibition in Hamburg.
